Culture of Peace 0011: Defying the Surveillance State, Locally

Culture of Peace Cover

For this week’s episode, I had the chance to speak with Mike Maharrey of the Tenth Amendment Center. Mike saw some security cameras pop up in a local park. As a concerned citizen, he filed an open records request to see how the footage was going to be used.

Ostensibly, the government “works for us.” So, did they happily hand over the information? Not exactly.

It’s a story worth hearing, and it’s not over yet. We also discuss how to start your own local activism efforts, so you’ll definitely want to listen to this one!
